Making platform policy enforcement decisions more transparent

Making platform policy enforcement decisions more transparent

Insights from our Creator Sentiment survey revealed a critical trust gap: creators were struggling to understand our new safety policies and how those decisions affected their experiences. As the lead product designer for this 0→1 initiative, I partnered with product to define a vision for making enforcement more transparent, actionable, and educational.

I designed a two-part experience, the first being an at-a-glance surface for understanding experience availability and enforcement status. The second surface is a centralized inbox where creators can review violations, understand appeal options, and access relevant policy guidance. Beyond the product experience, I partnered with research, content design, and data science partners to shape the research strategy and interview protocol, then designed the prototype used in evaluative sessions with 12 creators and creator teams across the U.S. The research surfaced meaningful insights into how creators interpret enforcement decisions and provided strong early signal that greater transparency could improve their understanding and trust in the platform.

Due to this work being unreleased, I’m unable to share certain details or full documentation at this time. I’m happy to discuss relevant learnings and approaches in more detail if requested.
